two hundred eighty nine

there's another valentine-like day in the middle of october. it's called "sweetest day" and has apparently been around since 1921. i learned this b/c while card shopping i noticed a section below the halloween cards for this supposed holiday. i say - we already have a candy holiday on october 31 and a "barf me a river" day on february 14.. do we really need another holiday that combines the two? read about it here.
